We flicked through Eventbrite and found a lot of Christmas-y events with a London twist. There's everything from cocktail masterclasses to festive supper clubs — have a look below and book your favourite event.  

1. Candelit Christmas carols

What's more quintessentially Christmassy than carols? Carols sung by the angelic voices of the Southwark Cathedral Choir at the eponymous cathedral surrounded by flickering candlelight, with some merry Mozart thrown in. Tuck into mince pies and mulled wine to complete the scene.

3. Cocktails masterclass

4. Dollshouse festival

If you like retro toys, you won't want to miss this one-off craft festival happening in the beautiful Kensington Town Hall. The Dollhouse Festival Christmas Show will showcase over 170 of the best dolls' house craftsmen, miniature artisans and DIY suppliers coming from all over the world. Time to find your inner child.

5. Festive dance at the Round Chapel

Traditional music ensemble Fitty Gomash & Friends celebrate the coming of the Christmas season at the Round Chapel in Hackney. Dust off your dancing shoes for an evening of ceilidh music and dance!

6. Merry Muppets movie

Our editor-at-large rates The Muppet Christmas Carol as 'the best Christmas film ever made'. 7. Christmas brews

UBrew trusts its members so much it's letting them take over its taps with beery Christmassy goodness. Forget 'malty' or 'hoppy'; here you'll get your stout or IPA with a hint of apple strudel, honey, thyme, cinnamon and cloves. 8. An evening at the Leighton House

Have you ever visited Leighton House Museum? If not, take the opportunity to enjoy the famous abode of Victorian painter Lord Leighton and listen to some festive music. For one night only this month, musician and broadcaster Sandy Burnett will conduct an evening of carol singing accompanied by piano.

10. The seven seas at the Brunel Museum

Poco's head chef Tom Hunt cooks up a Christmas feast with a social conscience for the third year running in Brunel's engine room: fish is chosen for its sustainable credentials, fresh organic fruit and vegetables get used that would otherwise have been discarded, and profits go to Action Against Hunger. Hurry for early bird tickets: you'll get a bonus fire in the herb garden, a tipple at the mulled wine bar and a guided tour of the Grand Entrance Hall of Brunel's Tunnel.

12. Scandi pop-up

Tuck into an authentic all-you-can-eat Christmas Smörgåsbord at the Skandalicious Swedish Christmas Pop-Up Restaurant in beautiful Chelsea Physic Garden this December. This is proper Swedish family fare: a Julbord of herring, cold cuts, smoked salmon, gravadlax, patés, hearty bread and cheese to start, followed by a carnivorous main course spread of meatballs, ribs, sausages and Julsinka (breaded and cloved ham). Try to leave room for desserts sweet enough for the sweetest tooth — Christmas rice porridge, ginger cake, saffron cake — and seasonal Swedish cocktails. Arrive hungry.
