Have A Go At Fencing At An 18th Century Castle
A past demo day by Blackheath Fencing Club

Wannabe knights, rejoice! You can try the noble (and Olympic) sport of fencing in the shadow of an 18th century castle — all without leaving London.

Blackheath Fencing Club is coming to Severndroog Castle near Eltham on 13 September for a day dedicated to the sport.

The club's fencers will be demonstrating the combative sport, using electronic scoring similar to that used in competitions. If you're inspired by what you see, clamber into the training kit they'll provide and have a go yourself. The event is suitable for adults and children.

The fencing display takes place at Severndroog Castle on 13 September, 12pm-3pm and is free (the castle is open 12.30pm-4.30pm, with admission £2.50 adults/£2 children).
