Saucy Mystery In Lady Chastity's Reserve Lady Chastity's Reserve 3
Gabriel, our host for the evening

“Lady Chastity had an unusual way of crushing grapes to make her wine,” our host Gabriel tells us with a wink and a nudge. This is our first glimpse of what we can expect for the next hour as we indulge in a mystery game which can best be described as Miss Marple in a Carry On film.

The plot revolves around Lady Chastity, sadly no longer among us, who produced a wine which is also an extremely potent aphrodisiac. Now only one bottle remains in existence and, as intrepid sleuths, our job for the next 60 minutes is to solve a succession of clues, many of which are given to us from Lady Chastity from beyond the grave, which will help unlock the mystery and deliver her version of Viagra in a bottle.

The prize: Lady Chastity's reserve

The game takes place in a room roughly the size of your average zone two living room – making it obvious why team numbers have been limited to between two and five people. And without giving too much away, many of the clues relate to combination padlocks which are hidden in a number of different boxes or places in the room. The aim is to crack the puzzles which unlock these, eventually granting access to Lady Chastity’s sweet nectar.

The role-play is entertaining and while it may not be as sophisticated as some other, more intricate immersive games, it is great fun and the allotted hour soon flies by.

At £19 per person, it’s not the cheapest game of it's type if measured pro rata, but if your experience is anything like ours, you’ll have loads of fun with a tongue-in-cheek game that's hosted by a creepy yet entertaining character with clues that will test your problem solving skills against the clock.

Lady Chastity's Reserve is played at the Four Thieves pub, 51 Lavender Gardens, SW11 1DJ. Nearest station: Clapham Junction. Tickets: £19. Londonist experienced Lady Chastity’s Reserve courtesy of the organisers.
