London's family-friendly festival of architecture kicks off on 25 July, celebrating our city's brilliant buildings.

Aimed at five to 11 year olds, the Archikids Festival takes place at venues across The City, including The Gherkin, Guildhall, Whitechapel Gallery, Broadgate Circus and the Sky Garden.

There are more than 30 free activities for kids and their families to explore, with the aim of opening up exciting London buildings that aren't usually accessible to children.

Aspiring engineers can build a balloon-powered car, fly a self-built kite, take part in a ping pong challenge, or get to grips with some gooey model making. Animal lovers can learn about the birds, bugs and butterflies of the Square Mile at the Sky Gardens in the Walkie-Talkie or the roof gardens of 6 Bevis Marks. Into drawing? Why not design a geodesic dome, try some sky scraper sketching or draft your own London skyline.

Archikids Festival 2015 takes place on 25 and 26 July. Visit the festival website to find out more.
