RioFoneHack @ Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park (Ongoing until 12 July)
Walk around the park and find the three public phones that have been shipped in from Rio de Janeiro. It’s a theatrical experience for one person at a time. Pick up the phone and interact with a fictional Brazilian artist. For instructions, text ‘rio’ to the free phone number 07903 579 560.

Much Ado About Nothing @ Camden People's Theatre (30 June - 19 July)
An Italian-flavoured version of Shakespeare's comic romp full of macho men and flirty women. £12/£10, booking in advance suggested

Peck Peck @ National Centre for Circus Arts (1-4 July)
See circus students flying high at bargain prices. £10/£5, booking in advance suggested

Polymer @ Udderbelly (6-8 July)
Another circus degree show, this time it's an ensemble of 18 young graduates promising "to merge the floor with the air". £10/£5, booking in advance suggested

East Is East @ Churchill Theatre (6-11 July)
We reviewed the West End run of this show back in January. Now the play is on for a limited time in Bromley. £36.9-£11.90, booking in advance suggested

Positive @ Park Theatre (7 July-1 August)
The life of Londoner Benji changes irreversibly after he's diagnosed HIV+. The problem is not so much the virus however as everything that comes with it. £18-£12.50, booking in advance suggested

Sibling Revelry @ Hippodrome Casino (7-11 July)
New York cabaret stars Ann Hampton Callaway and sister Liz Callaway bring their exuberant show to Leicester Square. Tickets from £25, booking in advance suggested

Primetime @ Jerwood Theatre Upstairs (18-25 July)
A series of short plays written by children aged 8 to 11. Expect to be surprised by this innovative theatre project. £10/£5, booking in advance suggested

A Midsummer’s Night Dream @ Southbank Centre (22-24 July)
Artists from the Garsington Opera and the Royal Shakespeare Company present the Bard's famous verse set to Mendelssohn's music (he created an overture after reading Shaky's play at the age of 17). £45-£15, booking in advance suggested

Summer Of Love @ St James Studio (27 July-1 August)
Game of Throne's actor Thomas Brodie-Sangster makes his stage debut with this moving story of a family in crisis. Tickets start from £8, booking in advance suggested

Operation Crucible @ Finborough Theatre (28 July-22 August)
The dramatic and incredible story of four men who survived the German bombing of Sheffield in 1940. £18-£14, booking in advance suggested

Jekyll & Hyde @ Platform Theatre (28 July - 8 August)
Taking place at Central Saint Martins, this show offers a contemporary version on the famous novel of Robert Louis Stevenson. £17.50/£12.50,  booking in advance suggested

Udderbelly Festival @ Southbank Centre (on until 19 July)
The big purple cow is back on the Southbank for the annual festival which mixes circus with comedy, cabaret and diverse artistic performances. This year’s line-up includes comedians like Katherine Ryan and Sara Pascoe and modern circus from A Simple Space, Bromance and Beta Testing. £17.50-£12.50, check website for shows and availability

Face to Face Festival @ White Bear Theatre (29 June-12 July)
This festival of solo theatre celebrates its fourth anniversary by bringing back the best shows from previous years. Tickets £12/£10, booking in advance suggested

Connections Festival @ National Theatre (1-6 July)
This festival aims to bring new theatre to schools across the country with plays made available for free performance — see the list and find out how to take part here.

Switch On NOW @ The Albany (6-11 July)
This festival links up mindfulness and the arts with dance theatre, music performance, spoken word and family-themed activities. Most of the events are free but ticketed — check the full programme here.

Shubback Festival @ Various Locations (11-26 July)
Shubbak is London’s largest biennial festival of contemporary Arab culture — featuring a variety of shows including theatre. With performances taking place at venues like Rich Mix and Sadler's Wells, this third edition promises to be the most ambitious yet. Tickets start from £10, check full programme here

The London Short Play Festival @ The Edric Theatre (16-18 July)
We don't know much about this one yet but the name sort of gives it away: might be worth a punt if you're south of the river.

Comedy Season @ Cutty Sark Studio Theatre (24 July-3 August)
In the run-up to the Edinburgh Festival, the famous Greenwich galleon hosts its first-ever comedy festival with shows taking place in its historic hold. Acts include Sara Pascoe, Tom Allen and Katherine Ryan. Tickets start from £10, booking in advance suggested
