It's common to hear of wine-pairing with food, and beer-matching isn't rare, but how about music-pairing? A new series of pop-up summer lunches at The Doodle Bar in Battersea means you can listen to live Cajun and blues while slurping up a Louisiana crayfish boil; rock out to some reggae while chomping on top notch jerk; or gyrate to gypsy beats at an Argentinian barbecue.

Each Dockside Diner event is themed according to the chef on the day. Choose from Crayfish Bob — who gets you about as close to Louisiana as you can get on an Oyster card (and includes crayfish racing). Then there's Caribbean street food stall Mama’s Jerk — a regular at Camden Lock, Street Feast, and one of our top picks for Notting Hill Carnival. Or try Constancia on the Road — the street version of Constancia, Bermondsey's family-run Argentine grill, or Italian Supper Club, which aims to deliver that special Italian tradition of long, meandering mealtimes and wine-sipping late into the evening.

The events are hosted at the bar's outdoor terrace, The Beach, and have been organised in conjunction with Grub Club, which you can learn more about on our podcast.

Dockside Diner runs until 19 September on various days. Dining costs £28-£35, depending on who's cooking. See the website for full details.
