Inspire kids to get arty as Children's Art Week comes to London next week.

In a nationwide celebration of children's creativity, the London highlights include the chance to block print a Fokker DVII biplane's camouflaged fabric wing at the Royal Airforce Museum; build a big, messy cardboard world at the South London Gallery; and create a Post-it Note animation at the National Portrait Gallery.

Kids can work alongside professional artists at Royal Mews, Buckingham Palace, the Fleming Collection and Camden Arts Centre. Or you can follow a self-guided sticker-based architecture tour of the City of London. In a brilliantly varied programme there's even the chance to learn nail art alongside a pottery class at Paint-A-Clay in Hendon. (We suggest clay first; manicures, second.)

Children's Art Week runs at various venues from 13-21 June. See childrensartweek.org.uk for full listings. Many events are free; some have a small charge to cover the cost of materials.
