Seven books, eight films, and a website might be enough Harry Potter for some people — but for those who still have an appetite, a new play about the specky wizard is coming to the West End next summer.

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is based on a new story by J.K. Rowling, the author of the Potter books, with scriptwriting by Jack Thorne. The production team behind the play is Sonia Friedman, responsible for The Book of Mormon and Sunny Afternoon, among others.

Predictably, details around the play, which Rowling has referred to as "a real treat for fans" are hazy, although the author has confirmed that the play is NOT a prequel to her seven Potter novels.

We also know is that it will open at the Palace Theatre next summer. More information will be available later this summer, with tickets going on sale in the autumn. Register here for ticket updates — they'll sell out faster than chocolate frogs when they go on sale.

We began wondering whether Daniel Radcliffe — who played Harry Potter in the films and has since gone on to star in the West End, including a naked role in Equus — might reprise his HP days for this role. Then we got thinking about naked Harry Potter, and now we need mind bleach.
