What: A live classical concert of the music of Sibelius performed by the Philharmonia Orchestra and conducted by Vladimir Ashkenazy, a rather famous pianist-turned-conductor.

Where: Royal Festival Hall, Southbank Centre.

Why: The packed programme includes music inspired by Norse legends and the rugged landscape of northern Finland. It's not just orchestral either, there's singing too! This is part of the year-long celebration of the 150th anniversary of the birth of Jean Sibelius. Oh, and while you're there check out the many installations and exhibitions on show for the Southbank Centre's summer Festival of Love.
