Our Fave London Drag Queens Vying To Be RuPaul's UK Ambassador

RuPaul

Having become a success here since it finally arrived on TV in the UK, RuPaul's Drag Race's latest season is coming to an end, and this week London drag queens are vying to jump aboard as the hit show's UK ambassador.

Hopeful entrants were asked to submit a video which includes them lipsyncing to one of songs featured in Drag Race. RuPaul and her judges will be, as ever, checking the entries for charisma, uniqueness, nerve and talent. 20 of the best will be called in to perform live in front of the judges, with the winner sashaying away with an all-expenses trip to Los Angeles and behind the scenes access to Season 8 filming.

We've worked our way through the 90-plus entries and selected the pick of the crop from the capital. Good luck to the selected finalists, and whatever you do, don't fuck it up.

Channelling Joan Crawford at her creepiest, Scarlett Harlett ramps up the drag drama levels to 11.

Known as "The Legs of London", Danni Dee's long limbs really do go up to there. Her lipsyncing is not too shabby, either.

A star of the award-winning Drag Queens Of London TV series, Baga Chipz is "salty, will batter your sausage for 80p and loves to be covered in Daddy's Sauce". But can she lipsync?

One of the most striking faces of London drag is Miss Cairo. This half-Egyptian starlet has rocked stages across the capital — is it time for her to go global?

IMMA MESS is a New York-born drag and performance artist. She's studying Fine Arts at Central St Martins which might explain the highly-stylised and rather fabulous look.

Fans of London cabaret institution the Wam Bam Club will already be familiar with blonde bombshell Bunny Galore. She's well known for her saucy tongue but how well can she move those lips and hips?

Amy Grand is a 25-year-old drag newbie from Colombia. Watch her Sissy That Walk with no small amount of South American sass.

Hailing from the Emerald Isles, London-based Candy Warhol looks set for more than 15 minutes of fame. But does she have the luck of the Irish behind her?

Topaz Brony is a born and bred Londoner and says that she is "the best the capital has on offer". Will Ru agree?

Coming live and direct from a park bench in south east London, 19-year-old Jessica Kunt is one of the competition's few bio-female entrants.

And that's just the tip of the glitter-strewn iceberg. Check out more London queens looking to be RuPaul's UK ambassador including (in no particular order) Vinegar Strokes, Peach Dynasty, Cherry Popper, Jessica Colita, Candy Vanity Heals, Cookie Monstar, Miss Jay and Vanity Nightmare.
