The annual Prize for Illustration is back at the London Transport Museum, highlighting the theme of "London places and spaces" — each of the 100 finalists represents a personal view of the capital from the eyes of its creator.

Last week we showed you the competition winners. This time we've pulled together a selection of the drawings based around one of the strongest elements to come through: gardens and green spaces. The artists displayed in the gallery above have highlighted the richness and beauty of the capital's varying oases. Hannah Rollings shows the capital's secret gardens, Alex Beeching interprets Kew Gardens as a smiling face and Melissa North shows us a fairy tale Kyoto Garden.

Gardens are also a synonym of cultural identity and food traditions. Illustrator Steph Marshall describes her artwork, dedicated to Chumleigh Gardens in SE5:

This hidden gem in south London houses a series of interlinking multicultural gardens, as well as being home to various local community groups including those for gardening and sculpture.
