There’ll be gunfire around Old Street tonight, but don’t panic — it’s part of the open evening for the Honourable Artillery Company.
The event includes a parachute drop, a military display, entrance to the historic Armoury House and a chance to climb aboard a Chinook helicopter. And if all that doesn’t get your inner five-year-old excited enough to mime machine gunning a nest of enemy snipers, there’s also a display by the Royal Signals Motorcyle Team aka the White Helmets, drumming, and a free barbecue.
The Honourable Artillery Company is at Finsbury Barracks, City Road, London EC1Y 2BQ. Gates open at 5pm tonight with displays between 6:30-8:30pm. Entrance is free.
