A Load Of Balls: Spherical Food Restaurant Set For Soho

Doing the rounds: meatballs at Balls & Company

A restaurant called Balls & Company will roll into Soho in June, and contrary to our initial guess it’s not a new venture from poor ousted Ed.

The Greek Street site will actually be London’s first meatball-focused restaurant, which we’d consider an almost inevitable progression from the burger, hot dog and fried chicken joints that now dominate across town.

It’s being brought about by chef Bonny Porter who hails from Bondi and was a finalist in Australian MasterChef back in 2012. She’s previously worked in Mayfair’s The Arts Club and Village East on Bermondsey Street and the fact that she is completely deaf makes her career in top professional kitchens all the more impressive.

The menu at Balls & Company will be built around five different meatball choices at all times, to include wagyu beef, confit salmon and meat-free quinoa versions. There will also be a small selection of sliders in brioche buns, which we suppose are sort of spherical.

The main dessert offering will also be rotund — Porter will serve her take on classic profiteroles. The drinks list will be focused on wine, craft beer and sangria, and considering the concept we think it’s polite to order in rounds.

Balls & Company will open at 58 Greek Street, W1D 3DY in June. Follow the team on Twitter for further details as they’re announced.
