We first came across Henry Hudson's work over two years ago and were shocked to discover his 'paintings' were made entirely of Plasticine. Ever since then his work has become even more complex, including the creation of an homage to a Van Gogh.
He's now going to have an exhibition at the auction house Sotheby's gallery space, S|2. This will be his largest solo show to date and the centrepiece is a take on William Hogarth's A Rake's Progress. Titled The Contemporary Artist's Progress this series of artworks aims to satirise the art world, but also global politics and the corporate world as well.
Henry Hudson's Plasticine art needs to be seen up close to be believed and we're looking forward to seeing the output of this ambitious project.
Henry Hudson: The Rise and Fall of Young Sen - The Contemporary Artist's Progress will be on at S|2, St. George st, W1S 2FJ from 23 April until 29 May. The gallery is open Monday to Friday, 10am-6pm, entrance is free.
