We're not sure if we're overjoyed or concerned at this photo of two members of the royal family and the "royal embryo" (which later turned out to be Prince George) depicted as eggs. In 2012, the Big Easter Egg Hunt took place. Around 200 artists, celebrities and designers created and painted metre high fibreglass eggs which were scattered across London, with the public given 40 days to find them. Photo: Natalie Clarke (2012)

Happy Easter! It's Good Friday, so we thought we'd bring you a photo gallery of eggs dotted around London. Many are from the Big Egg Hunt, an event which took place across London back in 2012. Other 'eggs' are landmarks that you'll see all year round.

Thanks to the following photographers for use of their photos via the Londonist Flickr pool: Andrew Smith, Christiaan Ploeger, Dave Pearce, DB007, helenoftheways, Mike Murphy, Naf Selmani, Natalie Clarke, O.F.E, Patrizia Ilaria Sechi, psyxjaw, Stephanie Sadler

See our past Friday Photos galleries.
