It may have fallen over 70 years ago, but a World War Two bomb is still causing evacuations in Bermondsey. Builders uncovered the 1,000lb beast on Monday while demolishing a building on Grange Walk.

Army bomb disposal experts are working to defuse the bomb today and a 200m evacuation zone is in place. Residents have been warned that if it goes off, buildings within the zone will be "significantly damaged and those close to the bomb will be destroyed". Still, the SE1 Twitter account reports people sauntering around the cordon. For the love of god, people, it's a massive Nazi bomb.

Southwark Council has opened a rest centre for affected residents at Seven Islands Leisure Centre. Keep checking the council's website for updates. @SE1 is also an excellent source of information.
