The Art Of The Spin: V&A Talks Explore The World Of PR

A series of talks at the V&A museum next month is set to go behind the “truly amazing never-before-seen, utterly thought-provoking*” veil of the PR world to decipher the art of the spin.

Always Print the Myth: PR and the Modern Age sees experts in designated fields - from politics to showbiz - descend on the museum for after-hours talks on the churning mill that words can often go through while on the bumpy road from behind-doors discussion to public display. All sessions will be hosted by Alan Edwards — a PR CEO with 40 years in the field, who has worked with clients such as David Bowie, The Rolling Stones, Michael Jackson and The Spice Girls.

Whether the talks will truly reveal the challenges, successes and blurred truths of the PR world, or simply act as yet another piece of propaganda, the line-up of speakers certainly come with some kudos. We hope it’s the former. Here’s the full list:

2 May - Art (Jeremy Deller, Turner Prize winning artist) *sold out*
5 May - Conflict (Hala Jaber, Sunday Times Foreign Correspondent)
6 May - PR (Lynne Franks, Founder of Lynne Franks PR)
7 May - Royals (Paddy Harverson, Communications Secretary to TRH The Prince of Wales)
8 May - Elections (Lord Tim Bell, Advertising & PR Executive)
9 May - Campaigning (Ken Sunshine, ‘American PR Giant’)
