Tributes have been paid to popular food blogger Wilkes McDermid, after it emerged he fell to his death from City restaurant Coq D'Argent.

Police say they were called at 5.53pm on Sunday after members of the public saw a man fall. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Officers also told Londonist there were no suspicious circumstances and enquiries continue.

Chefs, restaurateurs, street market organisers, bloggers and many others took to social media to pay tribute to the 39-year-old, and share their sadness at his death.

This incident is the fifth in recent years after a number of people have died after jumping from the eighth floor restaurant. The eatery installed safety barriers in 2013 in a bid to prevent people being able to do so, however the circumstances of the latest death remain unclear.
