Antonia Fraser And Michael Rosen Join Daunt Books Festival

Daunt

Big names including authors Antonia Fraser and former Children's Laureate Michael Rosen are on the schedule for the second Daunt Books Festival in March.

The Marylebone branch of the well-known book shop hosts two days of talks, walks and events in an attempt to create a literary community in the area.

On the opening day, historian Antonia Fraser talks to journalist Valerie Grove about her new memoir, in which she divulges how she became interested in the past, and how this has shaped her life.

Author William Fiennes and naturalist and birdwatcher Tim Dee discuss our attraction to nature, and regular event Emily's Walking Book Club takes to Regent's Park to discuss Barbara Comyns' novel Our Spoons Came from Woolworths.

Former Children's Laureate Michael Rosen and translator Anthea Bell talk to Julia Eccleshare about German children's author Erich Kästner, who wrote Emil and the Detectives. Short stories and spies are also thrown into the festival mix.

Sadly, tickets to see travel writer Michael Palin have already sold out. See the full festival programme.

Daunt Books Festival takes place 19-20 March. Many events free, some events £7, (Festival Pass £35), prebooking essential.
