THEATRE FESTIVAL: The Space Arts Centre near Mudchute launches The One Festival today. The two week theatre event celebrates solo performers and will see 17 pieces performed from new acting, writing, and directing talent. Full programme here, until 18 January

EL SALVADOR: A new exhibition focusing on the lives of people living in the Central American country of El Salvador, and the challenges they face, opens at Rich Mix in Shoreditch today. Free, just turn up, until 20 January

SOCIAL MEDIA: Southbank Centre's Hayward Gallery becomes home to a new exhibition today. Bruce Asbestos' A/B Testing experiments with digital and social media, popular culture, marketing and small-scale production. Free, just turn up, until 22 February

YOGA: On a new year fitness mission? Slink along to Southbank Centre for a pre-breakfast yoga session with an impressive view of the London skyline. This is the first of four Wednesday morning sessions. Led by yoga expert Florence Lefebvre. £12/£10, prebook, 7.45am

LATE NIGHT MANOR: As we reported, Pitzhanger Manor in Ealing is to close for a couple of years while restoration work is done. Tonight's there's a final chance to see it in its current state and see the current exhibitions at a late night opening. Free, just turn up, 6pm-9pm

MUSIC MASTERCLASS: Head to the Purcell Room at the Queen Elizabeth Hall for a classical music masterclass. The event takes place before the performance of the Park Lane Group at 7.45pm. Free, just turn up, 6.15pm

CINEMA NIGHT: Whirlygig Cinema’s Spotlights is a night of short films taking place at Hackney Picturehouse. This time, filmmakers Duncan Cowles, Michael Pearce and George Watson present short movies that look at family themes. £4, prebook, from 7pm

FILM QUIZ: The audiovisual Bigger Boat Film Quiz is back at The Assembly House in Kentish Town. Themes this month include Best Director Oscar-winning directors, movie dolls, Liam Neeson, soundbites from scenes featuring robots, and soundtracks from films beginning with the letter A. £5, just turn up, 7.30pm (early arrival recommended)

SCHOOLS ORCHESTRA: The London Schools Symphony Orchestra performs the first of its three annual concerts at Barbican Hall tonight, conducted by Edward Gardner. £8-£25, prebook, 7.30pm

KORFBALL TASTER: If broomball didn't whet your appetite for unusual sports, Highbury Korfball Club runs a free beginner level adult korfball session at Petchey Academy in Dalston. The sport is similar to netball and basketball, and is the only mixed-sex team sport officially recognised by the International Olympic Committee. Free, just turn up, 7.30pm

COMEDY: New jokes and Rat Pack music from Nathan Cassidy, Julian Deane, Jayde Adams and more at the Camden Head pub, ahead of a bigger Leicester Square Theatre gig later in the month. £4, just turn up, 8pm

Good Cause of the Day

The likes of Alan Davis, Katherine Ryan, Al Murray, Susan Calman, Josh Widdecombe and Bobby Mair all perform at Bloomsbury Theatre on 21 January to raise money for Hatty Greenway, a teenager who needs a specially adapted wheelchair after major spinal surgery. Book tickets here.
