Nothing says Christmas quite like a traditional continental Christmas market, replete with quaint wooden chalets, handmade gifts, and more festive food and drink than even Father Christmas could polish off.

The Christmas Market at Tate Modern offers all this and more. In previous years, the market's been situated by Southbank Centre, but now it has moved its 70 beautifully-lit German chalets slightly downriver, giving Londoners a chance to buy unique Christmas gifts underneath the iconic Tate Modern. Choose from wooden and soft toys, jewellery, hand-made soaps, ornaments and much more — there's bound to be something to please even the most difficult of people to buy for.

While perusing the gift stalls, shoppers can refuel on warming food and beverages — festive glühwein (mulled wine), German bratwurst, gingerbread, roasted nuts, French crepes, and plenty of other fare to satisfy your stomach and give your cheeks a warm glow.

Add a pinch of traditional festive music, and it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas at Tate Modern!

Christmas Market at the Tate Modern is open until 24 December.
