London Street Art Campaign Needs Your Vote Today

A London-based street art initiative which aims to brighten up three London boroughs needs your help to win £50,000 from ITV programme The People's Millions.

If Colour The Capital receives most public votes, it will be given up to £50,000 to paint nine walls, three each in the boroughs of Tower Hamlets, Hackney and Waltham Forest. Children in two schools in each of the three boroughs will also receive street art workshops, and 6,000 litres of paint will be distributed to low income families to help them to improve their own environment.

Colour The Capital is a partnership between street art platform Global Street Art and The Forest Recycling Project, which aims to get communities working together to improve their environment. It's up against SkyWay Bike Champions to win today's £50,000 pot of money — one of three available on different days in November.

Global Street Art has organised over 700 legal street art murals in London since 2012.  Forest Recycling Project (FRP) aims to reduce, re-use and recycle waste, and runs The Paint Place which sells surplus paint of all types, colours and sizes.

More information and the all-important phone numbers you'll need to vote for Colour the Capital available here. Voting opened at 9am today is only open until midnight tonight.
