Tom Du Croz from LondonGigGuide selects five small/medium gigs around town this week.
Monday 24 November
Echosmith, Barfly, Camden
https://soundcloud.com/echosmith/echosmith-come-together
Echosmith is an American indie pop band formed in February 2009 in Toluca Lake, Los Angeles. The band is composed of four siblings: Graham, Sydney, Noah and Jamie Sierota. Don't miss their gig in Camden tonight. @echosmith, @thebarflyhq
Tuesday 25 November
His New Atlas & Sanarme, The Finsbury, Manor House
https://soundcloud.com/spareroom/abbey-bowden-still
This week's double bill. His New Atlas is 19 year old Eoghan O'Hagan from Northern Ireland. This track blew us away — his power and emotion comes flooding over you in powerful, beautiful waves. Sanarme is the performance name of the stunningly talented Abbey Bowden. She combines moments of ardent strength with utter vulnerability. @HisNewAtlas, @TheFinPub
Thursday 27 November
Seafret, The Islington
https://soundcloud.com/seafretofficial/seafret-give-me-something-1
Seafret is a duo formed by Jack Sedman (vocals) and Harry Draper (guitar) in Bridlington. The name Seafret, as well as being a pun on the guitar fret board, is also a local term for the two boys; it applies to the rolling mists that come in off the North Sea during summer. Now living and performing in London, the sea is what the pair miss the most. @SeafretOfficial, @TheIslington
Friday 28 November
Sophie Barker, The Elgin, Ladbroke Grove
Having previously sung with the likes of Zero 7, Groove Armada and David Guetta, her new album Seagull sees London-based Sophie move on from chill-out. This is a free gig. @TheSophieBarker, @TheElginW11
Saturday 29 November
Bullets With Blue Eyes, Surya, King's Cross
https://soundcloud.com/bullets-with-blue-eyes/this-is-our-love-song
We loved this track; it's the perfect antidote to the polished pop vocals of so many others. It is rough, raw and and has passion. The song tells the story of a less than perfect love affair. Get the chance to listen to it live tonight. @BulletsBlueEyes, @Surya_London
