Literary festivals are popping up left, right and centre across London — and who are we to argue with the written word? Later this month, two more literary festivals get their inaugural outings, in Dulwich and Kilburn.
Both festivals are focusing as much on the writing as the written. Kilburn offers workshops for writers of erotic fiction (18+) and comedy, as well as advice on using social media and blogs to market yourself as a writer. There's still time to enter the Flash Fiction competition — closing date 16 October — for a chance to have your work read out by professional actors, with the audience voting for the winning piece, on 30 October. Dulwich Literary Festival is sponsored by independent book store Dulwich Books, with creative activities for adults and children. Younger budding authors can learn how to make a comic, or take part in a creative cartoon workshop with Mik Brown.
