Tom Du Croz from LondonGigGuide selects four small/medium gigs around town this week.
Monday 20 October
Slow Skies, Sebright Arms, Bethnal Green
https://soundcloud.com/slowskies/1-ice-field
This band are a Dublin duo who sometimes confuse things by adding additional band members for gigs. This track is from their latest EP Keepsake. @slowskies @SebrightArms
Wednesday 22 October
Lazy Heart Parade, Strongroom bar, Shoreditch
https://soundcloud.com/lazyheartparade/haunt-me
Lazy Heart Parade are a six piece alt. folk band started by guitarist and singer Colin Smith as a soapbox on which to tell his confessional stories about a life spent as a geographical and emotional drifter. @LazyHeartParade @StrongroomBar
Thursday 23 October
Patch and the Giant, Cecil Sharp House, Camden
https://soundcloud.com/patchandthegiant/for-gabriel
This is their first London gig for five months and hopefully means they have all recovered from their summer of festivals! We saw them play at Larmer Tree last summer and they were excellent. There is sad tale behind this song involving a taxi and lost violin — if you download the song for a pound you can help replace the much loved fiddle. @patchandgiant @cecilsharphouse
Friday 24 October
Kikagaku Moyo, Shacklewell Arms, Dalston
This track is from their second record, Forest of Lost Children. The band are a five piece 'psychedelic space band' from Tokyo. Why would you not want to see that on a Friday night? @kikagaku_moyo @ShacklewellArms
Saturday 25 October
The Rin Tins, Jamboree, Cable Street
https://soundcloud.com/therintins/john-law
These guys have come up from Bristol to launch their new album One More Roll of the Dice. Entry is free and there is the promise the gift of some 'Bristolian Magic' for all in attendance. The band cite 'Make them Dance' as their driving ethos. @therintins @jamboreevenue
