LONDON DESIGN FESTIVAL: London’s celebration of design in all its forms is happening all over the capital. FREE WALK: During this month's Mayfair Market, join tour guide Yannick Pucci for a free walk around Brown Hart Gardens and enjoy a 10% discount on all hot food purchases. PASTA MASTERCLASS: Learn the art of making pasta from Italian chefs Giovanni and Antonella Rana. This masterclass takes place at their restaurant in Regent's Place, your ticket includes a two-course meal and a glass of Prosecco. £25, prebook, 3pm

SCIENCE IN A PUB: PubSci presents UCL researcher Dr Paul Hellier who talks about fuels of the future. The event takes place at the Old King’s Head pub in London Bridge. Free, just turn up, from 6pm

FREE TALK: Jon Cunliffe, leader of International Medical Corps UK, talks about his experience of working in difficult areas across the globe. The event takes place at Brunei Gallery Lecture Theatre, close to Russell Square. Free, prebook, 6pm

MEET THE MAKERS: Somerset House hosts a group discussion that involves a diverse set of makers, whose practice spans a range of production and manufacturing methods. The talk focuses on different types of design. £6+bf, prebook, 7pm

THE SHARD: Engineers Roma Agrawal and Leo Hollis discuss the future of London and the rise of skyscrapers and tall buildings in the capital. The talk takes place at the top of the Shard, of course. £35+bf, prebook, 7pm

OLD STUFF: Hackney's Look Mum No Hands bar hosts a party that celebrates beloved (and old) households. Bring along your favourite vintage piece — it needs to be at least 10 years old — then celebrate it, or get it fixed. Free, prebook, 7pm

LIVE MUSIC: Head to Rich Mix in Shoreditch for an evening of free music. The Trans-Siberian March Band performs live along with The Flying Seagull Project. Free, just turn up, from 7.30pm
