SOMERSET HOUSE: Jasper Johns: Regrets kicks off today at the Courtauld Gallery. See a haunting series of 10 paintings and drawings inspired by an old photograph of Lucian Freud posing in Francis Bacon’s London studio. £6/£5, until 14 December

LONDON FASHION WEEK: The invite-only fashion festival kicks off today at Somerset House. Didn't get an invitation? See fun and cheap things to do during London Fashion Week (it's not ALL about fashion, by the way).

JAZZ FESTIVAL: Imperial Wharf Jazz Festival takes place today and tomorrow at The Boulevard, Fulham Broadway. See website for full programme. Free, just turn up, until 13 September

BOOK TALK: Artist, filmmaker and writer Sophia Al-Maria discusses her latest book, Virgin with a Memory, with curator Omar Kholeif. The event takes place at the ICA and is part of Safar Film Festival. £5, prebook, 1pm

ST KATHARINE'S: Visit the Royal Foundation of Saint Katharine's in Limehouse and hear the story of how an ancient hospital made way for St Katharine Docks. You'll see relics from the hospital preserved at the Foundation and explore this lovely building and gardens in the company of Chris West, author of The Story of St Katharine's. BBC PROMS: The Poetry Society and BBC Proms have paired up for the Proms Poetry Competition. Tonight at the Royal College of Music, poet Daljit Nagra and poet-cum-broadcaster Ian McMillan introduce the winning entries, some of whom read their work on stage. Free, 5.45pm

Good Cause of the Day

Tonight, Oxjam Clapham hosts an evening of rock and blues at the Arch 635 in Clapham. On the bill for the evening are Suicide Pil, Rattle Snake, Treacherous Dogs and The Good Tenants. Tickets are just £5 on the door and all proceeds go to Oxfam. Just turn up, from 7.30pm
