What better place to watch a play about London's famous fictional serial killing barber than in the city's oldest pie and mash shop?

Tooting Arts Club are putting on productions of  Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd in Harrington’s Pie and Mash shop in October and November. The production was funded by a Kickstarter programme which has raised more than £4,500 so far. You can even buy your own pie before the performance.

In a slightly less dangerous recreation of events in the play, audiences will meet at Anton's barber shop before moving on to Harrington's for the play. Director Bill Buckhurst said:

"This will be Sondheim's Sweeney Todd stripped-back and up-close with a cast of eight, a band of three and a uniquely atmospheric space - the perfect setting for this thrilling tale of love, betrayal, lust and murder."

You can buy tickets for this unique event via Tooting Art Club's website. The event runs from 21 October - 29 November, Monday to Saturday (there are no matinees) at Harrington’s Pie and Mash, 3 Selkirk Road, SW17. Nearest tube is Tooting Broadway on the Northern Line (a two minute walk). Ticket prices are £5 for the dress rehearsal, £13/£16 (£11/£14 on the door) for the previews and £20 for all other tickets plus £2 booking fee. Seating is very limited so we'd suggest you get your tickets early.
