Pig Out At Pork Life Street Food Market This Weekend

Pork ribs at Ribstock

You need to cut down on your pork life, mate. But not this weekend.

Pig meat will hog the limelight this Friday and Saturday evening as more than twenty of the capital’s top food and drink stalls gather in Dalston Yard for Pork Life.

It’s been organised by MasterChef winner Tim Anderson, along with the foodie events crew at Big Eater, who have previously brought us Ribstock and Chilli Chilli Bang Bang.

The frankly crackling food line-up includes: hot dogs from Bubbledogs, pig’s head terrine from Rotorino, porky pizzas from Pizza Pilgrims, Korean burritos from Kimchinary, porchetta from Blackfoot and pork belly fried rice from Tim Anderson’s Nanban. There’ll also be bacon sarnies from Le Swine, hog sliders and smoked jowl buns from butchers Turner & George, ribs from The Rib Man, and piggy burgers from Bleecker Street — they’re made with double fatty Tamworth pork and served with cheese, grilled onions, raw apple and bacon; it’s the first time the bap legends have sold pork burgers.

Pulled pork from HotBox

Unsurprisingly there won’t be any shortage of classic pulled pork, either. Take your pick from HotBox, Q Grill, SmokeStak and Texas Joe's. And if you want something sweet, then how about a bacon maple brownie from Bad Brownie?

Varying drink stalls will focus on cocktails, gin, wine and American whiskey. There’s also talk of a vodka bacon inhalation station, but you’ll have to sniff that one out for yourself.

Tickets cost £15 and include a beer token, a free whiskey shot, a bottle of specially made Bacon Holy Fuck sauce from The Rib Man, and a bag of pork scratchings from Mr Trotter’s. The event runs from 5-11pm on Friday and Saturday.
