Here's what we've been replacing our blood with this month:

Metal Martini
Available at: Silk and Grain
Created by: Julian de Féral, Gorgeous Group
Costs: £9

We make no secret of the fact we love us a damn good martini, and this incarnation is like no other - comprising of a premium vodka-vermouth mix conditioned in metal flasks, resulting in a top-quality tipple with faint mineral trace and tiny citrus notes. Served in a metal martini glass, it stays at a chilled temperature for longer. Really, what’s not to love? And while you’re hanging out at Silk and Grain, give the Panky Club a go, especially if you’re a fan of a Clover Club.

Blossoming Kiss
Available at: Love’s Company
Created by: Russell Burgess, bar manager
Costs: £9

Strengthening the already stellar line-up of bars around Old Street/Hoxton is Love’s Company. Expect plenty of playful flavours, with tongue-in-cheek monikers to match. The new menu boasts many a top tipple, but we’re rather enamoured with the Blossoming Kiss: whiskey, a zingy edge of lemon, topped with fizz and perked up with their in house ‘passion potion’. And no, they won’t tell us what’s in it. Alternatively, If you like rum, and like it rinsed with butter, you can go for the charmingly named 'Thank fuck it’s buttered'.

Banana Manhattan
Available at: Nola
Created by: originally Nick Detrich from Cane & Table, New Orleans
Costs: £10

Nola, which was recently adorned with the Seal of the Sazerac for their dedication to spreading their love for all things New Orleans, have updated their menu. And this is the one (with The Other Woman coming a close second) that we constantly go back to: a twisted version of the classic Manhattan with Briottet Créme de Banane (made from real Costa Rican bananas, no less) and just a hint of absinthe, giving it a fruity and subtly-herbed edge.

Lady Marmalade
Available at: 5th Floor Harvey Nichols

This was one of our top picks from the Cocktails in the City extravaganza last weekend. If you like jam, especially jam that gets you really rather jolly, then this is the concoction for you: a delightful mix of quintessentially British fruit and floral flavours - elderflower, apple and marmalade vodka. Yum. Did we mention the texture of jam?

The Duppy Conqueror
Available at: The Rum Kitchen
Costs: £8.50 (but quote 'Londonist’ and you can get it for £7.50).

A simple but satisfying mix of cask-aged Jamaica and Barbados rum, with bitters and lime. Perfect if you’re missing Carnival (where it made its debut appearance).
