Back for only its second year, ArchWay With Words has pulled together a two week lit festival of magnificent proportions.

If you want famous names, they've got 'em: Charlie Higson, Will Self, Stella Duffy, Lisa Jewell and the wonderful John Hegley (book now before his show sells out). If you want thought-provoking panel sessions, you're also catered for: Colin Grant and Cecil Gutzmore talk about Marcus Garvey, Simon Singh and Alex Bellos are putting on a night for nerds, and you can catch discussions about gaming and ghostwriting.

We're also loving the concept of the Rebekah Brooks Guilt and Shame booth; record your tale of tabloid shame for the possibility of a reward from the other end of the hotline (pop into Archway Market on Saturday 18 October).

There's not an event that costs more than a tenner even with booking fees, and much is free. Add in film, spoken word performances, stuff for kids, creative sessions and even a comedy night and you've got the kind of event any neighbourhood would be clamouring to host.

ArchWay With Words runs 11-24 October in various venues around Archway. For more information and to book, see the festival website.
