Ticket Alert: A Door In A Wall's A Stab In The Dark

a stab in the darkThe fiendishly clever adventurers at A Door In A Wall have announced their latest mystery-solving event for autumn — A Stab In The Dark — and tickets go on sale tomorrow.

After the huge success of their previous adventure, The Diplomatic Corpse, which saw teams making illicit Ferrero Rocher in backstreet store-rooms while tracking down the murderer of the Paudaguyan ambassador, ADIAW have decided to kill off the retired star of 70s horror films. And we have to find out whodunnit:

Back in the 1970s, they really knew how to make a horror film. The primal terror, the slow reveal, the painstaking prosthetics and buckets of fake blood. And one man symbolised this high time of horror like none other: Don Gowin, the biggest star of the scene. Who can forget You Only Die Once 2, The Unmurderer and the chilling Death from Above (and also Below)?

Long since retired but nonetheless still celebrated for his work, Don is releasing an autobiography recalling all the detail of those monstrous days. But it seems someone has taken exception to his memoir - and when Don is found gruesomely slaughtered, it is up to his greatest fans to uncover the grisly truth.

Can you and your friends solve the mystery of this cult casualty? Follow the clues, gather the evidence and catch his killer - or perhaps you'll just take: A Stab in the Dark.

As with previous adventures, teams of 3-6 people are recommended. Each team will need at least one smartphone to hand between them and players are advised to wear comfortable footwear as they embark on their quest for evidence around London Bridge. The event runs from 3 October to 2 November, Wednesday to Sunday evenings at 6pm, then Saturday and Sunday afternoons  at 12:30pm.

Tickets are priced at £30 per person (plus booking fee) and will go on sale via Billetto at 9am on Thursday 21 August 2014. ADIAW events sell out very quickly so make sure you get your tickets early. We also recommend you come up with a super-punning team name ahead of the game.
