An Evening of Magic and Astonishment at Barons Court Theatre is a spectacle that mixes magic, comedy, illusion and cabaret. Featuring Magic Circle magicians Julian James and Michael Vincent (suitable for over 14s).

O, Canada!

The Ragged School Museum in Mile End has a series of activities exploring the lives of the 1000s of children sent to Canada from the streets of east London, including arts and crafts, puzzles, games and trails. Expect an abundance of moose and maple leaves.

Meet the Meerkats

Battersea Park Children's Zoo has a Meerkat Day, giving children a chance to learn more about these creatures, and realise that they don't all have Eastern European accents. Help the zoo keepers to prepare food for the meerkats, hear a story about meerkats, or make a meerkat badge to take home.

Winnie the Pooh at London Zoo

This August marks the centenary of the arrival of Winnie the bear at London Zoo. Sound familiar? Winnie was the basis for AA Milne's famous Pooh Bear character. This year's Little Creatures festival at the zoo celebrates all things Winnie, including themed games on the lawn, a Winnie the bear exhibition and a chance to see other animals immortalised in the books, including kangaroos, tigers and donkeys.
