Markets And Shopping Events: September 2014

It’s easy to get caught up in the large shopping centres and accessible chain stores that London has to offer. But look a little further and there are plenty of one-off shopping events too. We’ve rounded up the best pop-up shops, markets and fairs happening in London next month. Just hone in on whichever section tickles your fancy below, and browse by date.

Pop-Ups

Tatty Devine turns 15 at Southbank Centre

BLK DNM: New York-based label BLK DNM pops up in Harrods for six weeks, selling denim-based clothing and accessories. 1 September-13 October

FRENCH CONNECTION: The upmarket fashion store opens a pop-up at Old Street Station, named F by French Connection. We've seen the hoardings, but we know nothing other than this tweet, and that it opens on 1 September

TATTY DEVINE: The London-based quirky jewellery designer has amassed quite a cult following since its establishment in 1999, and is celebrating its 15th anniversary with a month-long takeover at Southbank Centre. 15 key pieces from the archive will make up a birthday collection, and there will be a series of jewellery-making workshops, plus lots more. 4-30 September

CHARITY SHOP: For one day only, the St Paul's YHA hostel has a pop-up charity shop. Clothes, jewellery, shoes, bags and random belongings left behind by guests or kindly donated by travellers will be available to buy. 10am-5pm, 7 September

MOSAICS: Southbank Mosaics has a pop-up shop in the iconic OXO Tower Wharf, selling mosaics and letting the public take part in a large-scale mosaic project. Until 30 September

LOUIS VUITTON: The French luggage giant has opened its first pop-up store in Dover Street Market selling leather goods, fashion jewellery, sunglasses and shoes. There will be a special window display 1-15 September to mark London Fashion Week. Until 14 October

New Openings

TK Maxx opens a new store in Westfield Stratford City on 4 September. On launch day, the first 500 customers through the doors at 10am will receive a £10 gift card to spend in the new store.

Abercrombie Kids, the more youthful branch of Abercrombie & Fitch, opens its first UK store at 3 Saville Row on 30 August. A look at the website confirms that prices are similar to the adult brand, but it remains to be seen whether topless men will grace the entrance of the store... we hope not.

Prodirect has launched a new store in Carnaby Street, giving Londoners access to the world's largest football boot room. As well as the range in store, the virtual shopping experience lets shoppers browse more options on touch screens.

Loft Design By, a mens and womenswear plus fragrance store, has opened on Monmouth Street in Seven Dials.

Fenwick on Bond Street has opened a new shoe room. It's actually three distinct rooms, filled with over 8,000 pairs of shoes.
