Free Film Screenings At Riverside Ampitheatre

2014's been a mammoth year for outdoor film screenings in London, and it's not over yet.

Every Wednesday-Friday in September, The Scoop at More London is hosting free screenings of popular films as part of the More London Free Festival. The Riverside Amphitheatre, in the shadow of City Hall and Tower Bridge, will show 12 different films, from the serious (Nelson Mandela: Long Walk To Freedom) to the silly (Ferris Bueller’s Day Off). Family-friendly films — including The Lego Movie and E.T. — are also on the programme.

There's no need to book tickets for the screenings as they're all free, with seating on a first come, first served basis. You can even bring your own picnic (no glass allowed though), or buy food and drink from the outlets on site. If you're watching a longer film, or you are susceptible to a numb derriere, cushions are available to hire for £1.

Weather looking iffy? Keep an eye on the More London website and social media channels — cancellation announcements will be made 30 minutes before the screenings start.

More London Free Film runs 3-26 September. Check website for film schedule. Free, no need to book.
