The Whitecross Street Party, one of London's liveliest street art festivals, returns for its fifth annual event on the weekend of 19 July.

The two day party will showcase larger-than-life street art exhibition ‘Rise of the Non-Conformists’, choreographed and curated by St Luke’s Community Centre and artist Teddy Baden, with the support of the London Borough of Islington. What this is exactly is unclear at present — even the party organisers' website says they don't know: "Some call it post-post irony. We call it a lot of bleeding effort."

There will also be live music from Solution Soundsystems; Disco Loco and LSO Community Choir (among others), street theatre, and of course, the food Whitecross Street is famous for.

Whitecross Street Party runs from 12– 6pm on Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 July along Whitecross Street (EC1) and in the Fortune Street Park. Visit their website for more information.
