Markets And Shopping Events: July 2014

It’s easy to get caught up in the large shopping centres and accessible chain stores that London has to offer. But look a little further and there are plenty of one-off shopping events too. We’ve rounded up the best pop-up shops, markets and fairs that are happening in London this month. Just hone in on whichever section tickles your fancy below, and browse by date.

Pop-Up Shops

The ZSL pop-up shop in Carnaby Street.

CARNABY GOES WILD: To coincide with the launch of the new Lions400 conservation and fundraising campaign, ZSL London Zoo has a seven week pop-up store in Carnaby Street. As well as several unique products, including an exclusive homeware range designer by Elizabeth Emanuel (who designed Princess Diana's wedding dress), there are free talks about various conservation projects happening each Thursday. Shoppers can also watch videos and see displays about ZSL's conservation work worldwide. Until 28 July

POP-UP STREET: Floral Street in Covent Garden has become London's first ever pop-up street, with shops and galleries appearing along the road for various periods of time. See below for some of Covent Garden's current pop-ups.

All traders are handpicked, so expect a good mix. A local "musicologist" (only in Hackney) will be DJing the event. 11am-6pm, 5-6 July

TRAFFIC-FREE REGENT STREET: Every Sunday in July, Regent Street goes traffic-free for Summer Streets, with a different theme each week. As well as a chance to shop with more space, there are pop-up events along a different theme. 6 July is Regent Street Garden Party, 13 July has a Love Food theme, 20 July celebrates all things fashion and 27 July celebrates the 25th anniversary of ice cream brand Magnum. More information here. 6-27 July
