Whether rain or shine, groove on down to Gillett Square on Saturday afternoon and get sucked into a joyful carnival of music and dance.

Dance Nations Dalston announces itself loudly and proudly with the Barbican Guildhall Creative Learning drummers at 2pm and keeps uptempo all day with free live music, dance performances and workshops.

The line-up reflects the diversity of the east London community featuring tropical vibes, Afro-Peruvian sounds, Bollywood dance, Tanzanian acrobatics, reggae with a French twist, hip hop from Blue Boy Entertainment, songs from South Africa, swing dance, rock 'n' roll, hula hooping and Colombian psychedelia.

As night falls the entertainment moves inside the Vortex Jazz Club for DJ sets and film screenings, including unique global documentary Samsara.

Dance Nations is on Saturday 19 July from 2-9pm in Gillett Square, Dalston, then from 9-11pm in the Vortex. All free.
