Summer’s great and all, but for coffee lovers, enjoying your favourite brew on a sunny day can prove a bit stifling. If your forehead is glistening at the mere thought of sipping a latte in the summer sun, then it may be time you tried cold brew.

The iced tea of the coffee world, many independent chains already stock their own cooling concoctions, but with Pact you can make it just how you like it in the comfort of your own home.

The London start-up takes coffee very seriously. Their beans are ethically sourced from farmers around the world, hand-roasted and packaged according to your specifications. Whole bean or ground, fruity or nutty, Brazilian or Guatemalan — just let them know what you want and they’ll send it out to arrive at your home the very next day.

This quick and easy recipe transforms your daily pick-me-up into an icy cold refreshment and, best of all, can be prepared in large batches and kept in the fridge for up to a week. Give it a go. It’s as easy as 1-2-3.

And while you’re at it, why not try Pact coffee for £1. Use the code: LONDONIST123 to claim your first 250g bag.

1. Place 120g coarsely ground Pact coffee in a bowl and cover with 1L water.
2. After ten minutes, stir and cover with cling film. Refrigerate for 24 hours.
3. After 24 hours, place a coffee filter in a sieve and strain mixture into a jug.

TIP: This method makes a very strong brew, so you may like to dilute it slightly. If you don’t have coffee filters, muslin cloth works too.
