LIVE MUSIC: Californian blues rock band Rival Sons are at HMV store in Oxford Street to celebrate the release of their new album Great Western Valkyrie. Fans who buy their album in the morning get wristband access to their live performance taking place at the store. Free, 12.30pm
ROYAL ACADEMY: Writer and broadcaster Patrick Wright talks to comedy writer and journalist Ian Martin at the Royal Academy, where he'll offer his perspective on his favourite bits of London. The event is part of London Festival of Architecture. £14/£7, prebook, 6.30pm

CRAFTY: Drink, Shop, Do in King's Cross hosts a tea towel screen printing workshop, led by textile designer Zeena Shah. Learn paper cutting techniques and use your cut stencils to make your finished design into a perfect screen print. £15, prebook, 7pm
