Dozens of creatures lurk within the tube map. Ever spotted the elephant drinking from the Thames at Embankment? Or the chicken nibbling away at Kennington (alas, not Peckham)?

This cartographic conjuring is the work of Animals on the Underground, which has long entertained us with these delightful images, originally conceived by Paul Middlewick in 1988. Soon you'll be able to buy notebooks and postcards emblazoned with the designs. Put the 'station' back into your 'stationery' and the, um, 'otter' back into your 'desk jotter'.

Available from Frances Lincoln from August, but pre-order now: notebooks, postcards, desk jotter. You can also get the designs on t-shirts and greeting cards right now direct from Animals on the Underground.
