ART FAIR: Handmade in Britain's Spring Craft and Design Fair takes place at Chelsea Old Town Hall this weekend, showcasing work from up-and-coming designer-makers. £5/£7, prebook, until 11 May

ART DECO: Eltham Palace hosts an Art Deco Fair, with vintage stalls themed around the Palace's past. £10.20, just turn up,  until 11 May

CINEMA CELEBRATION: The Genesis Cinema 15th birthday celebrations culminate in a kids weekend, with screenings of Charlie Chaplin films (Saturday) and Laurel & Hardy classics (Sunday). Free, prebook, until 11 May

BEAUTY SHOW: The Anti-Ageing Health and Beauty Show comes to Olympia London with exhibitions, talks, products and celebrity guests. £18/£29, prebook, until 11 May

FASHION FILM: New fashion film Advanced Style has several preview screenings across London this weekend, with Q&A sessions with the cast and crew of the film. Various prices, prebook, until 18 May

WILDLIFE ART: The Spotlight on Sumatra exhibition is outside More London, accessible 24 hours a day. It portrays the species of Sumatra and the danger they are in. Free, just turn up, until 31 May

DOCKLANDS HISTORY: Docklands History Group holds a conference, Conflict, Commerce and Community, which looks at the role of the Port of London at wartime. Takes place at the Museum of London Docklands. £35/£30, prebook, 10am-5pm

BODY IMAGE EXHIBITION: The Gallery On The Corner in Battersea Park has a one-day-only exhibition, Skin, which explores body image in contemporary culture. 10am-10pm

LONDON BUSES: Catford Bus Garage has a free open day to celebrate the Year of the Bus, and the garage’s centenary year. Visitors can ride on vintage buses, sit on a bus while it goes through a bus wash, see the garage maintenance area, and more. Free, just turn up, 10.30am-4pm

OPEN ARCHIVES: The Full English Archive Open Day at the British Library gives access to some of the original documents of Ralph Vaughan Williams and Percy Grainger, with illustrated talks about the early folk revival and the collectors. Free, prebook, 10.30am

LEYTONSTONE: Absofabvintage holds its monthly vintage market at Lister Hall in Leytonstone. £1 entry fee, just turn up, 11am-5pm

STATION PERFORMANCE: Witness Resting Place, a live performance in Charing Cross station based on extracts from the WWI diary of nurse Clarice Spratling. Free, just turn up, 11.55am-12.35pm

IMPERIAL FESTIVAL: The Imperial College 2014 Festival takes place at the South Kensington campus with talks, workshops, demonstrations and more, for all ages. Free, just turn up, 12pm-6pm

NIPPLE TASSELS: The Book Club in Shoreditch hosts Jumble & Pearls Vintage/Designer Fayre. As well as the chance to buy vintage items, we’re promised a nipple tassel workshop, live DJs and the chance to get your portrait done on the spot — great if you’re going with a group of friends. Free, just turn up, 12pm-6pm

CINEMA Q&A: Head to the Prince Charles Cinema for a charity screening of Metro Manila, preceded by a director and cast Q&A session. £35, prebook, 1pm

MILE END: Bob Slayer leads a Stand-up and walk tour around Mile End. The part comedy, part walking tour, will finish in a pub in the area. £10/£7.50, prebook, 1pm

FREE CITY WALK: This Occupy London tour of the City talks about the history of the financial district, and why the Queen has to ask for permission before entering the City of London. Free, prebook, 2pm

WINDMILL: Upminster Windmill has an open day this weekend. Free (donations welcome), 2pm-5pm (also tomorrow)

TERRACE LAUNCH: Ink on Palmers Road hosts a launch party to celebrate the opening of the canal side terrace, just in time for summer. There will be a big roast and cocktails. £20, prebook, 5pm

CHANT CONCERT: St Ethelburga's Centre on Bishopsgate has a concert of chants from the Syriac and Byzantine traditions by Arabic song specialist Merit Ariane Stephanos. £12, prebook, 7.30pm

Sunday 11 May

ROYAL ROWING: Every year, Her Majesty’s Royal Watermen complete a marathon row from Hampton Court Palace to the Tower of London, a distance of some 25 miles. Find out more about The Tudor Pull here. Free, just turn up to watch, 9am-5pm

ANTIQUES FAIR: The Royal Horticultural Hall Antiques Fair returns to Victoria, giving bargain hunters a chance to get their hands on some goodies. £4, prebook, 10am-4.30pm

PUNCH & JUDY: The 39th Annual Covent Garden May Fayre and Puppet Festival takes place at St Paul's Church, Covent Garden, with a grande procession at 11am, and Punch & Judy shows throughout the day. Free, just turn up, 10.30am-5.30pm

VINTAGE CELEBRATION: Clerkenwell Vintage Fair celebrates its 5th anniversary, with fashion items dating back to the 1800s. £4, just turn up, 11am-5pm

SOHO PUBS: There is a walk around the pubs of Soho today, taking in sites and hearing stories such as the teetotaller who had a pub named after him. £10/£7.50, prebook, 12.30pm

ROLLERSKATING: The Sunday Stroll is a relaxed slow paced skate open to all roller skaters and rollerbladers able to stop, turn and control their speed on hills. Meet at Serpentine Road in Hyde Park. Free, just turn up, 2pm

POLITICS: Lewisham gears up for the local elections with a screening of the documentary feature Tory Boy at St Swithun's Hall in Hither Green. Also on hand to answer questions will be candidates standing for council, and Lewisham's current Mayor Steve Bullock. Free, 6pm

FAMILY WORKSHOP: Parasol unit in Islington has a family storytelling workshop, with a theme of ‘My Brother the Alien’. For children age 5-15 years. £5, prebook, 2.30pm

LIVE MUSIC: The Jazz Cafe in Camden has an evening of live music with handpicked artists including Shea Soul and Debra Debs. £10, prebook, from 6pm

CLASSICAL CONCERT: London Symphony Orchestra plays a free open air concert in Trafalgar Square, featuring music by Prokofiev. Free, just turn up, 6.30pm
