Problems In Paradise: Hotel At National Theatre
When young playwright Polly Stenham hit the theatre scene in 2007 she made quite an impression. Her debut was That Face, premiering at Royal Court Theatre to high critical acclaim and written when she was only 19 years old.
Seven years, three plays, one screenplay, one art gallery and multiple awards later, Stenham is back and bringing a gripping new play to the National Theatre’s temporary theatre.
Hotel is a tropical thriller that follows one family as they enjoy their perfect desert island escape. It’s beautiful, it’s secluded, but beyond the white sands, dark clouds gather. A storm is coming.
Directed by Maria Aberg and starring Tom Beard, Hermione Gulliford, Damson Idris, Ntonga Mwanza, Tom Rhys Harries, Joe Shire, Shannon Tarbet and Susan Wokoma, Hotel explores the cost of integrity and what happens when even sorry isn’t enough in the remotest of locations.
Hotel is at National Theatre from 31 May - 2 August. Tickets cost £12 or £20 and can be booked online or via the Box Office on 020 7452 3000.
