From the article on the Boris Bus: "The "health and safety" concerns are such that buses with the open
platform back end now have a "supervisor" on board whenever the back
door is open, ..."


The writer obviously didn't read the Mayor's press release of 16 December 2011:

"The rear platform will be open when there is a conductor on board allowing passengers to hop on and off at bus stops"

So now TfL realised it's too expensive to have a conductor and need to close the doors more often. But they blame it on people's "stupidity".

You undersell the live train map. They have trains all over the world, though some coverage appears to be for select lines.
