BLOOD: Today’s opportunities to donate blood are at St James Square, Brewers Hall, The Hop Exchange in Southwark Street and Preservance Works in Hoxton. See site for terms and conditions

CYCLING TOUR: Richmond Panorama Cycling Tour lets you discover Richmond, Teddington, Kingston and their surroundings. Tour starts from Richmond Station at 10.15am, it lasts approximately six hours including breaks, tickets include cycle hire and entrance to Strawberry Hill House. £55-£25, prebook, from 10.15am

FAMILY FUN: The Royal Artillery Museum has prepared a special family package for the Easter Holidays: the price of £4.50 + entrance to the museum for a child includes fun activities like face painting, a tour into a tank, a workshop and more. Families (two adults + two children) pay £21.50 and tickets include childrens' activities as well. On until Saturday 19 April, just turn up, 11am-1pm or 2-4pm

DIRECTOR TALK: Director Adam Penford talks about the new production of Alan Ayckbourn's play A Small Family Business at the National Theatre. £4/£3, prebook, 6pm

POP-UP SKATING: Selfridges Old Hotel hosts a free skate park in its structures, until 19 April. Entrance is free and so is hire of the skating equipment. Tonight there's a special women-only skating event. Free, just turn up, from 6pm

BILL BRYSON: The popular author talks to Professor Jim Al-Khalili of The Royal Society about why science is important. Despite having received several honorary accolades, Bryson claims he was rubbish at science at school. We think it'll be popular, so get there early. Free, just turn up, 6.30pm

CINEMA QUIZ: You're Gonna Need a Bigger Boat is the film-themed quiz that tests your knowledge about cinema. This time the touring quiz takes place at the Hackney Picturehouse. £4, prebook, 6.30pm

IRISH STORYTELLING: Waterstones Piccadilly hosts an evening of live Irish storytelling with June Peters and Xanthe Gresham, introduced by Christina Oakley Harrington, in celebration of the publication of Cuchulainn and the Crow Queen. Free, pre booking essential by email, 7pm

WORKSHOP: Feel like renovating your wardrobe? Tie Dye High Five is a workshop that will teach you how to dye your t-shirts and clothes creatively. The workshop takes place at Stories bar (Broadway Market) and tickets include a drink. £15, prebook, 7.30pm

BRAINY: Maths mixes with psychology in the talk An Adlerian Approach to Addition, led by specialist Mary-Rose Pearsall in Holborn's Conway Hall. £7/£4, just turn up, 7.30pm

COMEDY: Four comedians improvise a show based on the suggestions of the audience. The East Wintergarden in Canary Wharf hosts the event featuring Stephen Frost, Andy Smart, Steve Steen and Ian Coppinger. £15, prebook, 7.30pm
