Think Boxpark and most people think of the chance to shop for new brands, or grabbing a quick bite to eat in the unusual surroundings of shipping containers.

But this weekend, Boxpark takes on a new guise with #BUSKTHEBOX.  One of the iconic shipping containers has been converted into a new performance space, and local unsigned music artists are being given the chance to busk in front of Boxpark visitors. If you're not musically inclined yourself, you can still head down to support the local up-and-coming musicians. Thanks to EE, there is free wifi, so why not bag yourself a deckchair and make an afternoon of it?

The artists kicking off this monthly event on Sunday are Ryan Green (who has previously appeared on The Voice), Jake Quickenden, Emma Blakk and Luke Towler.

If you want a chance to showcase your talents at a future #BUSKTHEBOX event, you're in luck. There is a competition to give one lucky group or artist a chance to win a busking slot on the last Sunday of the month.

To enter, upload a 15 second selfie audition to Instagram tagged #BUSKTHEBOX @BOXPARK @AcousticLiveUK (you must be following both). The competition opens the 1st of each month and closes 9 days before the event. The winner will be selected by a panel including BOXPARK, EE, and a guest music industry influencer.

The first #BUSKTHEBOX takes place on Sunday 6 April from 1-4pm. For more information about Boxpark and the brands currently in residence, visit the Boxpark website, like Boxpark on Facebook and follow @Boxpark on Twitter.
