The London docks have existed, in one form or another, since Roman times. By the early 19th century, they made London one of the world's biggest ports. Since the 1980s, most of the old docks have been converted into riverside housing. Today, London's docks are far downriver at Tilbury.
These photos include some striking pictures of the old docks, where the water mixes with light and creates colourful reflections. And, because we're such fans of the London transport system, we've included a picture of the Docklands Light Railway.
