This week Madame Tussauds London is, for the first time ever, opening its doors for an adult-only late-night event designed to allow a limited number of Londoners to enjoy the world-famous attraction after hours.

Beat the bustle and sip your free glass of Prosecco while mingling with stars such as Brad Pitt, Audrey Hepburn, Michel Jackson and, um, Boris Johnson? There’s Hollywood, Bollywood, The Royal Family and rock royalty. Oh, and One Direction (the figures that require the most regular cleaning, so we’ve heard …)

But it’s more than just a poke around after hours. Artists will let guests in on the secret of how to make The Queen’s hair shine and Beckham’s eyes simmer with an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at how the wax figures are made, including the sittings, sculpting and hair insertion.

If you want to go one step further, you can even pay to get a wax version of your own hand created and watch the experts work up close.

Assuming you’ve now reached the bottom of your Prosecco, finish the night with a taxi ride through 400 years of London life, brave a live scare experience, or unite with a crack team of Marvel Super Heroes in a 4D movie adventure. Tiny underpants optional.

Madame Tussauds London's Late takes place on Wednesday 26 March at 6.45pm. Early bird tickets cost £15 (but you’ll have to be quick) and Standard tickets cost £22.50. Tickets can be booked online here. Personal hand wax versions cost £9 per hand, first come first served.
