Get Sewing At Creative Stitches Show

Creative Stitches

Whether you've always been a devotee of the make-do-and-mend attitude, or you're a more recent recruit due to the Great British Sewing Bee, The Creative Stitches Fashion and Embroidery Show is for you.

Taking place at ExCel in April, the three-day event consists of exhibitors from all wefts of the textile industry, including craft school The Sewing Sanctuary, and fabric emporium Fabrics Galore (we're loving its London-themed fabric prints). Crafts represented include embroidery, machine knitting, quilting and appliqué. Several guilds and societies will also be present for those who want to further pursue any newly discovered activities.

If your inner stitcher is fired up and you want to have a go yourself, there are many free workshops taking place. Complete novices are catered for at The Sewing Club's simple workshops, and for more advanced tailors, renowned dressmaker Thelma Judge will be offering advice. It's worth noting that workshops are only bookable on the day, on a first come, first served basis, so if you want to get hands-on, get there early.

The Creative Stitches Show takes place at ExCel on 3-5 April 2014. Earlybird tickets are available until 31 March, priced at £8. After this, tickets are £10. Buy them here.
