The Union Jack is one of the most common icons of London, but there are plenty of other flags out and about too.

Many thanks to the photographers for allowing us to use their images via Flickr: Ania Mendrek, Coolasicemandave, helenoftheways, Jake Messenger, Michael Garnett, Natalie Clarke, psyxjaw, Paul Taylor, Stephen Iliffe, Paul Wood, Terry Willard and Seal Clubber.

(Pedants' note: we're aware that some people insist the Union Jack should be called the Union Flag when it's not on a ship, but we're not among them.)
